Come for the Architecture…

Once again, as a cultural partner of the London Festival of Architecture, Velorose is delighted to be staging an exhibition reflecting the year's theme; for June 2026 it's Belonging… The Velorose take on this is (BE)LONGING, being three themes in one:

• Being
• Longing
• Belonging (this year’s LFA theme)

Our first-ever open call group show transforms the gallery in to a riot of media and colour, with most artworks for sale. See artwork list for more (ARTWORK LIST UPLOAD TO FOLLOW)

Giuseppe Volpe, Untitled (Spaces) (2017), Chromogenic Print (C-type), Edition of 6 + 2AP, Unframed Print: 50cm x 70cm (£997.50), Exhibition (Framed*) Print: 54cm x 74cm (£1,260) (*with anti-reflective, low-iron glass)

We've been delighted by the number of entries, exhausted by the selection process, and are excited to be hosting such a dynamic show

The architecture and so-called built environment featured in (BE)LONGING take on many forms, and have been explored through a variety of media - come immerse yourself in the exhibition, and feel a sense of belonging at Velorose

Nigel Grimmer, (DETAIL OF) Collaborative Disruptions (Mondrian, Bound) (2026), Collage in Custom Frame, Unique, 30cm x 30cm x 3cm (£472.50)

…Stay for the Pride…

June is also Pride Month in London, with marches to follow at the start (Pride) and the end (Trans +) of July (but no UK Black Pride for 2026), and at a time when hard-fought-for rights and the opportunity to belong look set / continue to be eroded, we've been inspired by the way that our artists have embraced non-normativity in their response to (BE)LONGING. Get your own perspective on what it means not to be ashamed of being born one way or another (yes - Lagy Gaga (2011) meets Blondie (1978)); we call it Being

(BE)LONGING features a dash of religion, a lot of serious fun, and a smidgen of politics (unless, of course, one holds that the personal is political, in which case we've got it in spades) - and all of it art

Sallyanne Wood, Thrown Together 2 (2026), Photo-Printed Recycled Fleece Throw, Open Edition, 200cm x 148cm (£393.75); Photography by Mark Wagner

(BE)LONGING features works of art and architecture that explore how individuals are drawn together through (or separated by, and in) shared environments, atmospheres and instincts. By considering the joint-yet-separate themes of Being, Longing and Belonging, the seemingly disparate artworks help us to understand what it means to be at peace, at home, in-between, untethered, distanced, displaced - or just to be. Is there a universal search for a sense of stability within unfamiliar landscapes? How do art and architecture generate connection, pause, and recognition of difference within shared spaces? There's really only one way to find out…
